I have exactly one month left until the end of my degree. I look back and I really think it was worth it. Oddly I spent two years of my degree doing photography. It is only in my last year that I have taken up painting seriously and it's become a huge part of my life. I know that after my degree it will remain so, but it is still a chapter of my life I am sad to move on from. Hopefully to bigger and better things :D

Me and my paintbrush are getting to know one another again, it's so romantic :P

I don't often submit work from my degree on here. I use deviantart as a place to submit art I produce as a hobby. However,my current practice is going so well I thought I'd post a few photos. At the moment I'm having a serious break from painting and drawing, I don't want to just paint for the sake of it. I'm waiting for painting to become relevant to my work and then I will paint. I see this project as an attempt to document an absence in my area left by the closing of the mines and how this absence is also made present through the people that live there. As a miners daughter ( My dad is one of the few miners left) this is an issue close
